The Gratitude Journal… My FIRST entry

I saw an ad online at the end of last year promoting “The Gratitude Journal.” Intrigued, I purchased it and waited for New Years Day to start my year of Gratitude by writing the first entry on the first day of 2024.

The journal was broken down into 5 sections with a place for the date and a motivational quote at top. The five sections were: I am Grateful for… What would make today great?... Positive affirmation… Good things that happened today ... and… What I learned today… Each section had three lines to fill in the gratitude of the day. I plan on wiring in the journal every day this year, similar to my daily journal entries that produced my first book – A Leap Year of Firsts.

On January 1, 2024, the first day of the year, I wrote the first thing in my new Gratitude Journal was that I’m Grateful for… “my first sleepover (last night, New Years Eve) with Jack & Luke.” (My two grandchildren). Jack is one and a half. His big brother Like is four. We’ve watched them many times, but they had never slept over Nini and Grumpa’s house, our house.

What made the day great was playing games, coloring, doing puzzles and a host of other fun things with the grandkids. I learned, or should I say I relearned, that family time, being present with them, is invaluable. A great start to a year of Gratitude!
