Why

First time in Egypt viewing the Pyramids and so much more…

I missed publishing my blog last week due to my travels through Egypt. We started our two weeks plus trip in Jordan. We visited Aman and Petra in Jordan, which were amazing. From Jordon we took a short flight to Cairo, Egypt to spend two weeks visiting a walk back in time. Our first stop was three days in Cairo before we jumped on a river cruise boat to go up the Nole River. Cairo was much, much larger than I could have ever imagined. This old kid from Northeast Philly got to visit the Pyramids in Gaza on the outskirts of Cairo (pictured). I NEVER thought that this would ever be a possibility for me until recently. Phenomenal. As our guide described the theory on how these monstrous burial towers were build, it was incredible with the tool available. The three large Pyramids were sitting a few hundred yards in front of the Sphynx. We even road camels to the pyramids. Remarkable.

Once we finished with Cairo, we flew to Luxor, Egypt to tour the Valley of the Kings to walk down into the tomb of King Tut. From there we boarded our river cruise boat for a ride on the Nile for the next week. We stopped at numerous ports to tour ancient temples, tombs and historic sites. We walked through the Aswan Market, the Karnak, Philae, Luxor, Kom Ombo and Dendera Temples – Once in a lifetime stuff. Grateful to experience these world heritage sites! All unforgettable Firsts!! Dream, Plan and Do!!!
