I continue to look for opportunities for firsts, just not pressured to do one every day. Although I do have a new daily commitment, that I am NOT writing about. I look to do one act of kindness each day. For my blog today I thought I’d update you on some of my continued firsts…
…. After some research online and with local options in my quest to become an “official” travel agent for the first time, I settled on taking the training through and becoming an agent for Mayfair Travel. I personally met and had a long discussion with the owners of Mayfair Travel. It is a small shop that has been around for years, with a half dozen agents. I have been performing this function unofficially for my friends for a number of years, I thought I’d make it an official first. I’m NOT doing it for the money, but for the love of travel firsts and helping others. I got SO excited talking to them about all the trips, deals, etc.. that will be available. I am so excited.
… I’m an “official” mentor for the first time. I am part of the first cohort of the Small Business Mentorship Initiative presented by JEVS Home | JEVS Human Services. My assigned mentee is Carlos Aponte of www.WeLovePhilly.org . My assignment is to help this young entrepreneur succeed. He is trying to build an experiential school in West Philly to provide GED’s for high school dropouts, while creating future entrepreneurs. A remarkable kid.
… I’m working on my first TED Talk. I hired a TED Talk coach, who has done multiple TED Talks, to assist me. I just composed my 2-minute “pitch” video to send out to the selection committees of a few TED Talks. We are targeting a few for the Spring of ’23 (Possibly Boston, Delaware…). We’ll see. SCARRY!
… I was asked to be part of the first Artificially Intelligent generated Audio Book by my publisher Book Baby. I was just given the audio version to listen to proof. It is SO cool. I selected the voice from a hundred AI generated voice options. They are converting this for free to have me test the process in order for them to sell it in the near future. They have been working on this for the last year.
… I just booked my first trip to Scotland and Northers Ireland for next August for a few weeks. I have 4 couples traveling with me. Going to play the Olde Course of St. Andrews in Edinburgh and tour the Guinness brewery in Dublin, with a bunch of stuff in between for multiple future firsts!
Can’t wait for many firsts that I’ll experience in January on my first trip to the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu. There are a number of others, but I won’t bore you.
